UAE visa desk
UAE visa changes and renewals
Handled in-house by a Dubai agency that has run a visa desk for most of twenty-five years — not passed to somebody else and relayed back to you.
A caveat before anything else, and it is a real one rather than a disclaimer: we are not going to publish the rules. Who is eligible for what, how long a status lasts and what a given nationality may do inside the country are matters that change, that differ by passport and by current status, and that are decided by the authorities rather than by us. Anything you read on the subject — here or anywhere — is a reason to ask, not an answer.
What we can describe is the process, because that part is ours. Al Jazira Travels has run a dedicated visa desk for most of our twenty-five years, and at its busiest it was processing in the region of 250 applications a week. We are a recognised member of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and we handle changes and renewals ourselves rather than forwarding the file to a third party.
What our desk actually does
In-country changes and renewals
Processed by the same agency that answers your call, from an office in Port Saeed you can walk into.
Flights arranged in the same file
Where a change requires travel, the ticket and the application are held together, so one person can tell you where both stand.
Seven languages at the desk
English, Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, Hindi, Urdu and Malayalam — daily, 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
A straight answer about what is possible
If the route you are hoping for is not open to you, we will say so before you have spent anything.
How it goes
- 1
A conversation, not a form
The first job is working out which route is actually open to you, which depends on your nationality, your current status and how long you have been here. Twenty minutes on the phone usually settles it.
- 2
Documents together, once
Passport and its validity date, current visa or entry stamp, Emirates ID if you hold one, recent entry and exit dates. Most of the delay in these cases comes from documents arriving in instalments rather than from processing.
- 3
We tell you the cost and the risk
What it will cost, what we think is likely, and where the uncertainty sits — before you commit. If that sounds less confident than other offers you have seen, that is deliberate.
Questions we get asked
Can you tell me if I am eligible?
We can tell you what applies to your passport and your current status when you call, and what we are seeing week to week. We will not put a rule in writing, because eligibility is decided by the authorities and changes without much notice. For anything binding, the official source for your nationality is the answer.
How long does it take?
We will give you our honest expectation based on what we are seeing at the time, but not a guarantee — processing time is not within our control, and an agency that promises you one is promising something it cannot deliver.
Do you handle visas for other countries?
We process UAE changes and renewals ourselves. For entry to somewhere else, we coordinate through partner agencies and will tell you plainly which of the two you are getting.
Can you book the flights too?
Yes, and it is usually better if we do. Where the timing of the travel and the application have to line up — and they often do — having both in one file with one agency is the difference between a plan and a hope.
